Sihle Ndlovu is a small-town girl from Secunda, Mpumalanga who has navigated her way to the bright lights of Johannesburg as a radio presenter and professional voice over artist, having started her broadcasting career 8 years ago.
She enjoys photography, is currently a 10km runner with aspirations of running a number of ultra-marathons, a gifted coffee drinker and chocolate cake eater.
For Sihle, radio is still that personal, real, authentic space, that has the power to evoke sometimes unexpected emotion within us, whether it’s talk or music. “It’s the original social media community and loyal friend throughout the day, and who wouldn’t want to spend a good part of their day with a loyal and trusted friend”.
Her first stint behind the mic was at Impact Radio, a well-loved Christian Community radio station based in Pretoria, as a content producer and lifestyle show host, winning both the Community Presenter of the Year award and Best Afternoon Drive Show award at the South African Radio Awards in 2015.
After a 6 year run at Impact Radio, she moved to Classic FM (now Classic 1027) where she continued with occasional presenting whilst working behind the scenes as head of programming.’
One of Sihle’s mantras is to “Be where your feet are”, which speaks of living in the present.
“Life is made up of days. I think we would do well to live our lives one day at a time and strive to win each day. Don’t let yesterday ruin today and in the same way don’t let tomorrow’s concerns ruin today either …. Be where your feet are”.
